About Clint Sloan ...
Clint
Sloan has been painting professionally since 1985,
he entered the national fine arts scene in 1991 when he was
juried into the prestigious, Pageant of the Masters/Festival
of Arts at Laguna Beach, California. He was again invited to
display his original watercolors at this show for the past
6 years.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1965, he
chose a self-taught path to his art. A 1984 move to Seattle,
Washington transformed
the quality of his watercolors. At the age of 21, he was
accepted into the Northwest Watercolor Society.
Interacting with dreamscapes of old homes,
barns, land and skies, he produced realism of place infused
with light. The
Northwest's abundance of inland waterways added a new watery
symbolism to his work. Old fishing boats found homes in his
finely hued seascapes.
Clint received many awards from the numerous
juried exhibits through out the northwest.
In 1988, Clint followed the Rhythm of place and spent a year
in cosmopolitan Los Angeles, studying guitar at the Musician's
Institute. This time of introspection and change inspired a
collection of watercolors that sold out one-man shows in 1989
and 1990.
Filled with passion, movement and a wonderful
palette of lush color and light, Sloan's "imagines" are finding
their way
into the hearts of collectors and fans throughout the world.
Following a dream, in 1996 Sloan moved to
the tropical paradise, the Big Island of Hawaii. There
he could
study the elements that his inspirations were leading him
towards. For three years Sloan was a featured artist with
the prestigious Wyland Galleries of Hawaii. This opportunity
exposed Sloan’s work to the numerous visitors around the
world. Beginning in the year 2000, Sloan opened his own
fine art gallery on Hawaii, in downtown Kona. This has
been a
wonderful way for Sloan to continue his personal interaction
with his collectors. Sloan is also a featured artist at
Genesis Gallery on the Big Island of Hawaii and the Kahn
galleries
of Kauai.
Presently,
Sloan is receiving tremendous acclaim around the world.
For the past two years his paintings toured
several cities in Japan, and the artist visited for an
autograph session. The exhibitions featured a comprehensive
collection
of 120 of the artist's most recent paintings as well as
limited edition prints.
